Edwin Edwards is one of the dominant figures of 20th Century Louisiana politics. A direct political heir of Huey and Earl Long, Edwards is known as a friend to Louisiana of all races, creeds and colors.

Edwards secured his place in the state's history in 1991 when he was elected to an unprecedented fourth term as governor.
